10 Nov LUX Downlights Title 24 Approved

We are very excited to announce that our High CRI Downlights have been approved for Title 24 - part of California’s ever-evolving Energy Efficiency Standards. Our downlights feature an E26 base with T24 connector for easy replacement and installation. The Title 24 approved models offer excellent color rendering of 90 CRI and come in both 4″ and 6″ sizes.

What is Title 24?

California Title 24 is a set of energy efficiency standards that new and altered buildings and homes must adhere to in order to reduce energy consumption statewide. California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards are updated on an approximate three-year cycle and the 2013 Standards went into effect July 1, 2014.

The Energy Efficiency Standards are important because they make buildings more comfortable, lower energy costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Standards ensure that builders use the most energy efficient technologies and construction available.

According to energy.ca.gov, “The 2013 Standards will use 25% less energy for lighting, heating, cooling, ventilation, and water heating than the 2008 Standards. Additionally, the Standards will save 200 million gallons of water per year (equal to more than 6.5 million wash loads) and avoid 170,500 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.”

Sounds pretty good to us, and we are proud to continually meet energy-efficient standards when it comes to your lighting needs.
